Dear Emmaus Chorale Singers
It is with deep regret, but for the health and safety of our singers and community, that Janet and I have decided to cancel the remainder of the Spring rehearsals & our June concert. I’m sure we all hoped and prayed that this epidemic would be over by now, but the end is not yet in clear view. Our prayers continue for you, our community, our country, and our world.
We will continue to investigate the possibility of having a community Summer Sing, or perhaps just an informal get-together where we can sing, after the Covid-19 season has passed.
A couple of concerns:
For those who already have paid your dues, We easily can apply them to the fall semester; however, if you would prefer a refund, please get in touch with me.
Please retain your music and keep it in a safe place! Janet plans to use the same music for our Spring 2021 concert.
I have been in contact with Sue Straeter of the Emmaus Flag Day Committee. She responded that although Emmaus Rotary is not meeting in person, they continue to plan online. She is pleased that the chorale will honor its commitment with patriotic singing if Flag Day comes to pass. The Rotary hopes that by then we will be back to functioning in a new normal. And, if possible, a Flag Day ceremony may be more meaningful to many than before. We often have a smaller contingent at that event, we’ve all sung the anthems, and we can arrange a brief rehearsal the week before if necessary. Please keep that date —June 14 -- on your calendar,.
Keep singing!! Even if nobody else can hear, especially with your children/ grandchildren, and when you’re socializing at a distance with your neighbors!
Keep well…keep in touch…wash your hands…sing OUT LOUD!...pray…do unto others…
We look forward to making music together again soon!
